Birell BikeFest is the biggest bike festival in Slovakia. It's a source of adrenaline and fun for all ages. The 14th edition will take place from May 31st to June 2nd, 2024 in Freeride Bikepark Kalnica (close to Nove Mesto nad Vahom).
You can look forward to 10 different competition disciplines as well as the silver World Cup in mountain biking in the discipline of slopestyle. You'll be able to test more than 200 test bikes from dozens of bicycle brands and walk through a rich exhibition zone. Friday and Saturday nights will belong to great music.

Location
Birell BikeFest is held in Freeride Bikepark Kalnica. It is located six kilometers from Nove Mesto nad Vahom and 25 kilometers from Trencin. The journey by car from Bratislava or Zilina takes one hour on the D1 highway. From Brno, it takes 1.5 hours, from Banska Bystrica two hours. From the highway, you need to turn off at the Beckov exit and then just follow the signs to the Birell BikeFest.
Freeride Bikepark Kalnica attracts visitors from Slovakia and more and more often it is also visited by bikers from abroad. Bikers like it not only because of its location but also because of the number of tracks and obstacles, which are growing every year. Trails that you definitely won't find in Slovakia and the surrounding area - such as dual pumptrack, dual slalom, or the largest slopestyle track in Eastern Europe make Kalnica Bikepark an ideal location for a unique bike festival.
Transport & parking
Are you coming by car?
The navigation will reliably guide you to the Freeride Bikepark Kalnica. The festival venue is located six kilometers from Nove Mesto nad Vahom and 25 kilometers from Trencin. From the highway, you need to turn off at the Beckov exit and then just follow the signs to the Birell BikeFest. When you arrive, follow the instructions of the staff who will direct you to the parking lot. From the car park, you'll arrive at Birell BikeFest in several ways: either by free shuttle bus or by your bike, or by foot.
Are you coming by public transport?
We recommend that you arrive in Nove Mesto nad Vahom (by bus/train), where the shuttle service departs at regular intervals.
Shuttle service:
The free shuttle service, provided by the Trenciansky samospravny kraj, starts at the parking lot in front of the railway station in Nove Mesto nad Vahom. It departs at regular intervals in the direction of Kalnica and also stops at P+R lots. The journey takes around 15 minutes. The bus turns around at the final stop in the village of Kalnica and the festival is approximately 500 meters away.
Parking close to bike park:
Parking in the parking lot at the Freeride Bikepark Kalnica is FREE again this year for all bikers with bikes. Visitors and spectators without bicycles are recommended to use the shuttle service from Nove Mesto nad Vahom or from the P+R lots.
Accommodation
Camping:
This is the easiest and cheapest accommodation option during the Birell BikeFest. It is FREE and the tent city is located close to the festival grounds. You can park your RV in the tent city, but camping spaces on level ground are limited. We recommend you arrive as early as possible. Booking is not possible. There is no electricity or water connection at the festival campsite. However, there is a storage room on-site during the festival, along with chargers and freely accessible showers and toilets 24/7.
Service
Bicycle storage:
Birell BikeFest visitors can use it daily. It is possible to charge your e-bike here, but you need to bring your charger. The bike storage is available throughout the weekend - for a one-off fee of 5 €.

Friday: from 02:00 PM to 07:00 PM
Saturday: from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM
Sunday: from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Showers and toilets:
They are located on the festival grounds and are available 24 hours a day. They are cleaned and emptied regularly, but we ask you to keep them tidy. Please note: the water in the showers is not drinkable.
Kärcher washing zone:
Kärcher has been looking after the cleanliness of your bikes for years. After all, it's not only your body that needs to be kept clean but also your bike. So you can treat it to free, high-quality care after a hard day.
Safety:
It is our priority. The security service takes care of the safety of visitors during the whole festival. In addition to protecting visitors, they guard the festival premises and, together with the organizers, ensure the smooth running of the event.
Please note: The organizer points out that he is not responsible for material damages that occur during the festival!

Entry rules
Entry rules and conditions:
The festival grounds are open to visitors starting Thursday, May 30th, 2024. The official program begins on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at 10:00 AM and ends on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 at 05:00 PM.
There will be an information booth on the festival grounds (in the race registration area). Here you will find information about the festival venue, race timings, and medical services.
There is an organizer service and a first aid point. The area is not guarded and the organizers are not responsible for the safety of belongings in the area, in the campsite, and in the car parks, so it is advisable not to leave valuable items, money, etc. in the tents. If you come to Birell BikeFest with your bicycle, you can store it in the bicycle storage for a one-time fee of 5 €/day.
2. The organizer is not liable for personal damages, loss, and injuries incurred at the event if caused by the visitor's negligence or the unforeseeable behavior of other visitors and third parties.
3. Camping outside the reserved area is strictly prohibited. Tents that violate this point will be relocated to the information booth.
4. By entering the premises, the visitor gives his/her consent that photographs or video recordings of him/her taken during or in connection with the festival may be used by any present or future technical method, without monetary compensation, time, or territorial limitation.
5. It is strictly forbidden to bring glass containers and bottles, pyrotechnic objects, including firecrackers and mordants, open flames and any kind of cooking stove, objects endangering safety, drugs, psychotropic substances, combustibles and weapons of any kind (including kitchen knives) into the event area.
6. Persons entering the premises may be subject to screening.
7. Smoking is permitted in all open areas except the Children's Area.
8. Sales of any kind and other commercial activities are strictly forbidden on the festival grounds without the knowledge and prior consent of the organizer.
9. To protect your safety and the safety of other visitors, please behave responsibly. Violation of any prohibition may be grounds for leaving the premises.
10. Parking is available at the emergency parking lot - about 3 km from the festival grounds and at the parking lot near the Birell BikeFest. The vehicle must be secured against spontaneous movement with the handbrake and the gear lever, or with the gear lever in the parking position for automatic gearboxes.
11. Tenting between cars in the parking lot is prohibited and tents so erected will be dismantled and relocated to the info booth.
12. Warning: excessive sportsmanship may result in placings on the podium in individual events. :))
Rules of riding:
1. Each rider must wear a helmet while riding. For downhill riders, we recommend a motocross helmet or a helmet designed for downhill. For all other disciplines, a certified bicycle helmet is sufficient.
2. For downhill riders, we recommend neck, back, chest, shoulder, forearm and shin pads.
3. A bicycle with a minimally sprung front fork is used for downhill riding.
4. For safety reasons, always ride with a minimum of two riders on a single track.
5. In case of an accident on the track, the biker is obliged to provide first aid or call for ambulance, at least report the accident to the Freeride Bikepark Kalnica operator at the lift.
6. Everyone on the track is obliged to behave in such a way as not to endanger health or life, and not to cause harm to themselves or other people.
7. It is forbidden to modify the track in any arbitrary way, to change sections or obstacles, except in situations endangering the safety of bikers on the track.
Organizational service:
Representatives of the organizing service are specially marked. The organizers include in particular:
- security service - wearing clothing with SECURITY inscription and identification number
- paramedics - white clothing or ambulance service uniform
- fire service - fire service uniform
- organizers and temporary workers - dressed in T-shirts with the Birell BikeFest logo and the EVENT STAFF inscription.
